Gold & Silver Bullion Bars

Pure (999) gold and silver bars come in all sizes. We purchase everything from 1-gram gold bars to 100-ounce silver bars, minted or poured. Collectively referred to as “bullion”, people buy them as an investment. The choice of metals and sizes allows almost anyone to invest in precious metals.

Both 999 gold bars and 999 silver bars share a few specific features. They’re flat and rectangular. One side is impressed with the producer’s logo and a serial number. The other side may show a basic design (the logo in repeating pattern) or be smooth. Many sealed bars come with batch numbers that can be used to verify authenticity.

We Buy Gold Bars

Gold bars are the classic bullion for the affluent. What self-respecting king, dictator or rich cartoon character doesn’t keep stacks of gold bars locked away in a vault? These days, lots of regular people own gold bars too.

Gold is expensive. So most gold bars weigh 1 ounce or less. In fact, many clients bring in fractional bars, weighing 1, 2, 5 or 10 grams each. Midlands Gold buys gold bars made by all major producers:

  • Pamp Suisse
  • Credit Suisse
  • Perth Mint
  • Valcambi
  • Royal Canadian Mint
  • Scottsdale Mint
  • Argor Heraeus
we buy gold bars, ingots, buttons

Buyer of Silver Bars

Silver bars are the low-priced alternative in bullion. Therefore, most silver bars weigh 1 ounce or more. The largest common silver bars weigh 100 ounces, but even these only cost about as much as just one ounce of gold.

Silver bullion is more than just plain rectangle bars, though. Because of it’s affordability, producers get more creative with 999 silver. Your “silver bars” may be shaped like Legos, bullets or the State of Texas. Midlands Gold buys all sizes and shapes of silver bars, made by these producers and others:

  • APMEX
  • Silvertowne
  • RMC
  • Sunshine Mint
  • Engelhard
  • Johnson Matthey
  • Scottsdale Mint
  • Golden State Mint

Other Bullion Bars

Some bullion bars aren’t gold or silver. Are they worth anything? If so, does Midlands Gold buy them?

Platinum Bars

Platinum bars offer neither the stability of gold, nor the affordability of silver. For a long time, platinum was valued at twice the price of gold. It has dropped to less than half of gold’s price. We buy platinum bars.

Palladium Bars

Palladium is a very expensive precious metal. Currently, though, there’s currently no affordable way to test palladium. Since counterfeits abound, palladium bars represent an unacceptable risk for us. We do not buy palladium bars.

Novelty Bars

Novelty bars are made of non-precious metals, like copper and zinc. They have no value. We don’t buy novelty bars.
